The fine print
Terms of Service
Last updated · 5 July 2026
These terms cover the Being Human website, wishlist, accounts and any pre-release builds we share with you. They're short because the project is young; they'll grow up alongside it.
The game is a work in progress
Everything you see — footage, screenshots, features, dates — is pre-alpha and subject to change or removal. Joining the wishlist gets you updates and a place in line for playtests; it isn't a purchase and doesn't guarantee access to any build.
Accounts and invite codes
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you're responsible for your account.
- Invite codes are personal. Share your spares with friends by all means — that's what they're for — but don't sell them.
- We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, the API, or other players.
Playtest builds
Pre-release builds are confidential unless we say otherwise for a given test. They will crash, corrupt saves and eat your evenings; they're provided as-is, for feedback, with no warranty of any kind.
Your feedback
If you send us ideas, bug reports or suggestions, you give us permission to use them in the game without obligation or payment. (We'll still try to credit playtesters — you're the point of the exercise.)
Our content
The game, its art, code, music, name and this site belong to us. You're welcome — encouraged — to stream, record and share footage of the game. Don't rip assets out of it or pass the work off as your own.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site or pre-release builds. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes belong to the courts there.
